PEL helps you reach your future

Hi, I am Irine, the founder of a private company which provides high quality language training to private individuals. I am based in Zürich and manage private sessions in General and Business English, KET, PET, FCE, etc., in which we initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions. My teaching philosophy depends on each student's needs. We specialize in teaching Adults, Young Adults and Young Learners in a variety of contexts, always ready to design engaging and challenging lessons for our students.
In my own Language-based lessons, the basic framework used for analysing grammar, vocabulary, and functional language is the MFPA (Meaning – Form – Pronunciation – Appropriacy). This framework is applied in the official order of priority.   My strategy of Meaning before Form utilizes the idea that it makes more sense to convey and check meaning, before you focus exclusively on form and pronunciation, i.e. why practise a phrase students do not understand? The last category of MFPA is Appropriacy – it helps ELTs consider whether a piece of language can be used universally, or, if learners need to know whether it is: formal, neutral, informal, dialect specific, colloquial, slang, taboo, or more common in spoken or written language.

My use of up-to-date course books, interactive workbooks, authentic materials, audio recordings, etc., bring the real world into the classroom and create a more positive attitude towards learning. If you have only limited time for your studies, I can suggest for you several fast-track option course books. This creates a practical, highly communicative shorter course, enabling you to get the maximum benefit from your English studies - fast.

Programs:

General English - focuses on developing the language and skills necessary for effective everyday communication across a wide range of different contexts and situations.

KET - it provides an initial learning objective for adolescents and adults, enabling learners to meet their basic communication needs in English.

PET - it tests the language skills needed to survive in social and work situations in an English-speaking environment.

FCE - it is widely recognised in commerce and industry, and by educational institutions in Britain and overseas as proof of language ability at an intermediate level.

CAE - is suitable for people who require English for professional or study purposes.
